What a great weekend at Blackpool competing in the Nationwide classical and modern sequence competition. Starting with a warm up on arrival on Friday at the tower ballroom. The competition started early on the Saturday with our under 12 lady, who danced her modern sequence superbly, through the heats. The adults commenced in the afternoon with their classical sequence with great vigor, moving through heats and into semi finals, we had one finalist with a 5th in the Veleta and a 5th in classical sequence. Finishing quite late 10 o’clock for supper. Sunday had both our stardance and under 12 young ladies competing in their classical sequence and again superb dancing from both through the heats. Our additional needs young man achieving a 4th in his first Blackpool. The adults again competed well in their modern sequence with improvement from last year, again recalls for all and a finalist reaching 5th in modern sequence. Would like to say well done to all of the competitors. Another late evening with a well deserved celebratory meal and drinks. Now the work starts for next year 2020!
On Sunday 22nd September the school held a Ballroom, Latin , Classical and Modern Sequence Medal test. There were 47 Medals, danced by individuals and couples supported by the school.
